The P-Max Deluxe Kit
(Style B - fixed 1/8" stroke) includes all parts from the crankpin down
to the lower tool holder. In other words, you build the frame and weld
on the mounting plates (included in the kit) and just bolt everything
onto your frame.
There are also several upgrade kits available. The Drive Shaft Deluxe
Upgrade Kit includes the drive shaft (with the crank pin TIG welded to
the shaft, key way installed into shaft), drive shaft pillow block
bearings, lock collars, pillow block mounting plates (with mounting
hardware), and pulley key. The Y-Axis Deluxe Upgrade Kit includes the
complete Y-Axis assembly.
(Note: The Y-Axis Kit allows for very precise adjustment of the lower
tool holder assembly. This is particularly useful when aligning
Thumbnail Shrinking Dies to compensate for different material
thickness.)
*The Drive Shaft Deluxe Upgrade Kit and the Y-Axis Deluxe Upgrade Kit
are only available as upgrades to the P-Max Deluxe Kit, and are not
offered as stand-alone kits.
All fabricated parts in the kits are manufactured by Desert Hybrids
Precision using CNC machining centers, and all parts are TIG welded
using special alignment fixtures. The upper tool holder and lower tool
holder assemblies are pre-assembled, with all mounting hardware and
dowel pins included.
The P-Max Welder Series Kits includes all of the parts listed for the
P-Max Deluxe Kits, but will require some additional deburring, welding,
and drilling/tapping of holes ( 117 page instruction manual with photos
is included).
(Note: For the P-Max Welder Series Kits the hole center locations, as
well as some part orientations, are marked with CNC Laser Etching for
easy setup.)
The P-Max Starter Kit includes the Crank Pin, Connecting Rod Assembly,
Wrist Pin Assembly, Upper Tool Holder, and Lower Tool Holder.
Individual P-Max parts are also available upon request. The major
individual parts are listed below.
In addition to the P-Max Deluxe Kit with upgrades, the builder will
need to supply the frame, casters, motor mount, motor, pulleys, drive
belt, optional fence assembly, and optional sheet metal covers. All of
these parts are described in detail in the P-Max "Pullmax Style"
Reciprocating Power Hammer Plans.
